John Reese's Traffic Secrets Test - Testing & Tracking
John is a fanatical tester and he taught me the value of doing the same a long time ago. Much of what I saw watching this DVD was familar to me. For testing, John recommends Clickalyzer or ProAnalyzer. I've used Clickalyzer in the past and they're probably the best service available but I get most of what I need included in my current shopping cart service so I no longer use them.
ProAnalyzer installs on your server and costs $97 with no monthly fees. I plan on reviewing them in a future issue of Ecommerce Confidential.
So, this DVD provides important info you need to know to measure your progress. Since I already have a tracking solution in place, I'll be moving on to the next DVD: "Pay-Per-Click Mastery". I'll cover that in my next post.

Getting Started
A letter from John Reese encourages you not to share what you've learned here with your competitors. Good advice. Let them spend a grand and buy Traffic Secrets themselves. By the same token, I won't be revealing any of John Reese's secrets here.
What I'll be focusing on in this blog is results. I'll assume if you're following along, you've already seen the Traffic Secrets website and would like some feedback before slapping down your credit card and paying $1,000.
You're not going to get a sales pitch from me, merely a review. If after reading this blog you decide to order, please do so using the link in the left-hand menu of this page.
Quick Start CD
Note: The volume on many of the CD's and DVD's is lower than your average CD or DVD. On my laptop, I had to turn the volume up all the way to listen. Other than that, the audio quality was fine.
This 8 1/2 minute introduction is fairly simple and John has done something here that I'll bet many purchasers will skip. He asks you to turn to the first page of the workbook and fill in some very basic information.
- First, you're asked to check a box agreeing to commit following his step-by-step plan to explode your website traffic. As simple as this sounds, it's a powerful first step. How many times have you bought a book, course or audiotape program and never gotten past the intro or first section? Making a commitment on paper is one step toward preventing you from doing the same here.
- Next, you enter the date, name of your site and your current daily traffic, if any.
- 3. Next, we set 7 day, 30 day and 90 day goals.
I'll do that now...
Today's Date: 11/28/2004
Full Name: Bill Hibbler
Web Site Domain Name: http://www.Create-Ultimate-Ebooks.com
Current Daily Traffic: 100 visitors per day.
(NOTE: John asks you to estimate this number if you don't know for sure. He also suggests that if this number is less than 100 visitors per day, you use 100 to calculate your goals. Joe and I officially launched this website on Sunday and our actual daily traffic this week varies from 141 to 1326. However, all this traffic is based on each of us announcing the site to our lists. So, none of this traffic is coming from search engines and we'll use the 100 visitorper day figure John suggests. )
7-Day Goal - 3X Today's Daily Traffic Is: 300
7 Days from Today is 12/5/2004
30-Day Goal - 10X Today's Daily Traffic Is: 1000
30 Days from Today is 12/28/2004
90-Day Goal - 50X Today's Daily Traffic Is: 5000
90 Days from Today is 2/5/2004
For the 90 day goal, John leaves the multiple blank for you to fill in yourself. I decided to shoot for 50x my current daily traffic or 5,000 visitors per day.
After setting up these initial goals, John tells you what steps to take next and how to use your workbook and some of the other materials.
Next up, the Tracking and Testing DVD. We'll get to it on Monday.

John Reese's Traffic Secrets Test - Day 1
Will those results be worth the price you'll pay for his course? Let's find out together. Over the next several weeks, I'll be applying the Traffic Secrets lessons to the website of my new ebook with Joe Vitale, The Ultimate Guide to Creating Moneymaking Ebooks. This is a brand-new website so there's no pre-existing traffic stream.
I'll be reporting results here but will only speak in very general terms regarding the actual techniques. I can't reveal all the tactics in his course. If I did, I'd probably be hearing from John's lawyers.
Be sure to bookmark this page and visit as often as you'd like. If you'd like to find out more about Traffic Secrets, there's a link in the left-hand menu. You're also welcome to check out the target site, CreateUltimateEbooks.com. There's a link in the left-hand menu.
I'm going to test allowing you to post your own comments and questions here. If it gets too crazy or if I get spam or nonsense posts, I'll turn that function off. If you look below my signature, you'll see a time stamp, the number of comments and a little pencil graphic. Click on "Comments" to add your own.
For those of you in the States, have a Happy Thanksgiving. I look forward to sharing this experiment with you.
All the best,
Bill Hibbler
