Bill Hibbler's Ecommerce Confidential
Issue 16
September 3, 2004

I want to thank you for writing in with your comments about my new site review website (MasterSiteReviewer.com). I got emails saying, based on my photo, I'm a lot younger than you thought. Those were fun (actually I'm 44) but my favorite emails were from those of you saying, "Bill, my website sucks, can you help?" Usually, the answer was yes. And if you've got a website that's not cranking out sales, please take a minute to visit the site and get a free quote.

In this issue, I review Corey Rudl's new "Mr. H." audios. This is a badly needed update to a product he's been selling for several years now.

By the way, I hope you like the new format. I'd prefer to just send you the HTML emails directly but unfortunately, only about a third of them were getting past all the spam filters. At least this way, when I want to say 'spam' or 'free', I can rather than typing 'sp@m' or 'fr>ee'.

Isn't it amazing how they keep promising us that all these laws and new software are going to cut down on all the spam in our inbox? Yeah, right. Messages from customers and family members often end up in the junk folder but never the endless plugs for home mortgage loans, prescription drugs and urgent pleas for help from Nigerian millionaires.

Have a great weekend!

All the best,

Bill Hibbler

"Mr. H. Audios: How To Profit With A Direct Sales Web Site"

by Corey Rudl & Bill Harris
http://tinyurl.com/6ahv4

Price: $197 (CDs or Cassettes)

According to Corey Rudl, the promise of this package is that you'll "learn the brilliant sales strategies of a regular guy from Oregon (a man we'll call Mr. H) who makes over $23,850.00 per DAY -- with a web site that even HE admits is ugly!" I'll go a step further and tell you that Mr. H. is Bill Harris and that 'ugly' website is Centerpointe.com.

Harris' website has changed very little from when he first launched it and has that mid-90's era look to it. He's been reluctant to change it because it's working so well for him now. (That's an important lesson in itself. You can always test new ideas but don't abandon something that's working just because you just because you're bored with it.)

For the past several years, Corey has been offering a 90-minute audio interview plus a Q&A session done with Harris by Bob Serling around 1998 or 1999. Although Harris' website hasn't changed much, his income has risen dramatically. I met Bill Harris earlier this year and can tell you the guy flies around in his own private jet. He is making a tremendous income from his website.

In the past, I've given the Mr. H. Tapes fairly negative reviews because a) they're outdated and b) Corey targeted newbies with this package and gave the impression that you could listen to the tapes and duplicate Harris' results. The reality was the earlier package gave an overview but no detail on how to duplicate Harris' primary strategy.

Now Corey's updated the package with a new 101-minute interview along with a thirty minute Q&A session and a 32-page workbook. As a bonus, he includes the original Mr. H. audios on three CD's or cassettes.

This package is far better than the original because the workbook guides you to the service Harris uses to perform the exit survey's and personalized follow-ups that are the key to his strategy.

Mind you, the strategy can be used with any autoresponders but not as effectively as Harris' system.

In this interview, Harris also goes beyond this follow-up strategy and explains how he's increased his lifetime customer value from $500 to $800 plus how he sets up his follow-up system to educate the customer after the sale to get them to actually use his product. If they don't use it, they won't buy from him again or spread the word about his products.

Spreading the word is important to Harris. He gets almost all of his traffic from referrals either from affiliates or just regular customers.

Bottom Line: The new package is worth the $197 price tag because I got enough ideas to recoup my investment many times over. If you currently have a product and a website, you're likely to benefit from these audios, too. However, if you're just starting out, you're better off buying a regular course like Terry Dean's Internet X-Factor, Ken Evoy's Make Your Site Sell or Corey's own Insider Secrets course.

One final thought on this package and this refers to the CD version. There are no track separations in these interviews so you don't listen to the whole CD in one sitting, you have to hold the scan button to try to find where you left off. It's so simple to add gaps the recording in a way that doesn't interrupt the flow but allows for easy navigation. I don't know why so few 'spoken word' CD's don't make the effort.
